In summary, I don’t believe I will return to the Rusty Pelican because it is quite overpriced and the food is just ok. This is blatant abuse! While the Rusty Pelican does have a sign that says Valet parking only,” it is not clear that it is the only option! An otherwise nice evening was spoiled by the boot. The marina doesn’t have its parking spaces clearly signed and are using the boot as another form of revenue as there were other cars also with boots. Just as they clearly state when making the reservation that they can’t accommodate special requests for tables, etc., they must also clearly state that Valet parking is the only option if you’re driving. The Rusty Pelican MUST warn its customers. We were lucky that we didn’t have to wait long for the guy to come to take them off and his credit card swiper wasn't working, so that wasn't an option. Unknowingly, we parked in the middle and we ended up with two boots on our tires! $62.50 got the boots off. There is no public parking! The parking before the restauran is all private and it’s not clearly signed with only some signs on the one fence. Our skilled and accommodating staff will ensure your event runs. With breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami Skyline, the Rusty Pelican has become the first choice of people who will settle for only the best. Something to know and be very AWARE about is that you MUST valet park. The Rusty Pelican celebrates the art of a wedding ceremony by creating a breathtaking and once-in-a-lifetime experience. At the entrance there’s an area for your instagram photo. This is a version of Peruvian arroz con pollo” but with shrimp and mahi mahi. Entree, we ordered the “arroz meloso” for 2 $80. Cocktails were very interesting but also very pricey at $22 for the “maracuya.” We were served cornbread with himalayan salt and a very savory butter which was very good. Luckily not much activity going to and from the patio. Also in front of the door to the patio, which had it been another day, would not have been bad, but this night was very breezy and cool, so we got the cold drafts. It was just in front of the bar where there seems to be some sort of ugly disposal.
